Also, he lost. Only a few crazies in his inner circle are jumping to his aid. Even FOX is dropping hints that concession is inevitable. I think everyone is on to the next thing. Yes, it does damage that he’s holding on like this. But it’s a fine line between damaging Biden’s legitimacy and damaging his own influence. There is a large contingent of Trump voters who probably just want him to step aside. The big force protecting us is apathy. People simply don’t care this much about politics. His craziness is offputting. Sore loser written all over it.
It's not a few crazies in his inner circle. Lindsay Graham, Ted Cruz, and all of Fox outside of the News division are not a "few crazies." Maybe to you, but not to the people that listen to Fox, which is the most popular television network in this country. I related this yesterday, but while driving I landed on WMAL - DC's right wing talk radio. I decided to listen to hear "the other side." Well, the other side was a caller named Doug, who was asking the host what happens when people who think like him, people who think they aren't listened to or acknowledged, who are sick and tired of being sick and tired, tired of being railroaded by the left, take up arms to protect their communities against rioters and lawlessness. I expected the host to raise some objection to this line of thought. He didn't. He validated Doug's feelings for maybe a minute or minute in a half, trashed anyone who didn't "think like them" as enemies trying to destroy this country and then half-heartedly said he hoped what Doug was talking about never happened. It was shocking. Trump will go, but if anyone thinks we are done with Trump or Trumpism you are lying to yourself. The next four years will be as brutal as the last.
