OP, thank you for this thread. I'm a parent of SN kids in gen ed who is desperately hoping for an in person spot with a teacher for my kids. This isn't sustainable. It helps to see that others didn't receive offers yet. I'll be here all day if you need me . . .
Me too! I’m worried, though, reading the other thread about twitter. Sounds like there is a live meeting with Ferebee and a lot of pushback. Also, the legality issues with WTU. I’m really worried the plan will fold, especially as we are now past 5pm.
Pp here. Ugh, I hope not. I absolutely ***HATE*** WTU! I wasn't a fan of Ferebee before, but I'm gaining respect for him as he holds onto reopening the best that he can.
apparently Ferebee shot down the WTU demand that community members be allowed to veto individual school reopenings. Good for him - can you imagine the nightmare if whatever neighborhood busybody is on the LSAT gets to decide if your school opens or not? Ferebee also clarified that DCPS has management rights to make staffing decisions. He hopes to be able to use the survey WTU threw out, but will make decisions regardless. Basically shows that WTU’s actions and demands have been obstructionist.
