Use your sick leave to the fullest extent possible to enjoy time with your new baby. But I think this is something to keep in mind, if you plan on taking unpaid FMLA leave before the first birthday. If Biden wins, I would be shocked if OPM didn’t change the regs on this almost immediately. Also, a new Administration can vacate regs issued in the final 6 months of the former Administration. The Federal Register notice for paid family leave was finalized only in August 2020 so it would be amended quickly. [/quote]
