I'm surprised how much unhealthier and overweight kids are these days. It's a shame we are seeing more kids with type II diabetes. Growing up I would run around outside and play for hours with the neighborhood kids and now kids are more sedentary playing on their electronics.
Really??! Kids today are far more athletic. Middle class kids play more sports than ever before: soccer, basketball, lacrosse, track & field, softball/baseball.... kids hardly have free time now (pre covid). When I was a kid in the 80s, we did run around outside but we also watch hours & hours of TV. We ate crap. There was no organic food. There was no gluten free. We were not making açaí bowls. So much judgment about Americans, but we’ve never lived in such a health & fitness obsessed time. What throws the data off is poverty. We have poverty in this county and that is driving obesity. Cheap food feeds tummies but it’s harmful to health. :-( In addition, our suburbs are designed for a car culture. In Europe communities are design for bikes and pedestrians.
Thinner women with better beach bodies in Europe for sure but smoking is way more prevalent. Not cool. UMC American women that went to elite schools and have married MC/UMC parents are some of the most attractive women in the world.
