How can he be blackmailed? I am extremely confident that his colleagues are aware of his preferences but unlike DCUM, no one demands that he announce it.  Where you work, do all the gay people have to tell you they are gay, or otherwise let you know by being your sassy gay friend? I hate to break it to you but gay people are just normal people, and like a normal person, their sex lives are none of your business.  So there's nothing here to blackmail.  If someone wants to out him, they can take a number because the media outs him every few years.  Also.... are you suggesting that gay people shouldn't be senators unless they openly declare their gayness? Honestly liberals are as idiotic about this stuff as boomer Republicans. [/quote]

I don’t know. I agree that his being gay (or being suspected of being gay) is a pretty open secret and I don’t knew if it’s blackmailable. But you have to admit that the man went from being pro-McCain, somewhat rational, very anti Trump to being one of the biggest Trump cheerleaders. It was a strange and noticeable about face. I don’t think you can blame folk for thinking that Trump has something on LG. I have no idea what it is. [/quote]

McCain might be a hero of the left but he was the largest stumbling block to gay rights in the military. He was the one who insisted they survey the troops to get their opinion on whether or not to allow civil rights. On what other issue are troops surveyed (and I say this as a vet- the military was the first institution to integrate, had interracial marriages well before the general public- it's the ideal place for integration).  McCain stood in the way of progress on gay rights. Trump is just another in a long line of boomers intent on "telling people like it is" and if it werent him it would be some other loud mouthed know it all (hi, Biden) until this godforsaken generation finally leaves us for the golf course, and we can pick up the pieces.
