We did. My parents came over and we ate outside. I put food on the screened in porch so we we took turns being in there and sat at other ends of our table. Is there a slight risk from this. Yes. But my mom also goes the the grocery every week. I think we were safe. No hugs or touching.
When my mom ventured out to a doctor's appt, Target and to the car wash I knew that it was time to start up visits again. This business of staying inside your home, completely alone and isolated from the world is not healthy. I feel really bad for the elderly people who have completely lost contact with the outside world. That is no way to "live" your life.
I hope you still feel that it’s healthier to have close personal contact with vulnerable people when someone close to you gets very sick.
We were outside and did not hug so no close personal contact. The chances of her or any of us catching anything from each were so incredibly low. If I had been driving her around inside the car that would have been more of a worry to me, mask or no mask, because the virus is very small and it is not going to be contained by the kind of masks that we're wearing. Sitting outside in the fresh air, not hugging or getting too close was absolutely fine. And I do mean _ 100% Totally Fine.
