Do you have a kid at TJ?  I do.  Believe me, they have plenty of leisure time.  And I'm convinced at least half of the "oh my kid is up so late doing homework" is due to said kid screwing around on social media.  Learning time management will help anyone in adulthood, and by HS kids should be learning skills like that IMO.[/quote]

Yes, exactly. My child went to TJ, was involved in a lot of out of school activities, and managed to be in bed every night by 11.  Most of the kids at TJ are pretty darn smart and can get their work done in a reasonable amount of time as long as they are organized and work efficiently.

He would be annoyed when classmates with whom he was working on a group project would text or email at 2 and 3 in the morning. The other kids had no other activities and yet they couldn’t manage to get their work done earlier because they were fooling around on social media half the time. Poor time management is just as much a problem at TJ as it is at other schools.
