This thread has really gone off track but chiming in to say that those of you who don’t believe the family courts still favor Mothers have no idea what you’re talking about. I’ve been through it myself as a Mom, I’ve been through it with my second Husband as a Dad, my brother, my boss, I could go on. Men seriously get treated like babysitters and money trees, it’s disgusting. The moms call the shots, the courts back them up. When my DH’s ex keeps the kids, he’s told there’s nothing he can do and to take it up with the court. The police told us that if he were the one who kept the kids, he’d probably have kidnapping charges. Family Law is literal crazy town.
Thank you. Not sure why it’s so difficult for other posters to realize this. It’s quite the norm.
If the majority of other people are not seeing it, it’s likely not the norm.
If you’re AA or Latino, we can continue this conversation. If not, kick rocks.
I think what the PP was alluding to is that this is the norm in those communities, and if you are saying it's not the norm, you must not be from those communities. I'd have to agree that it is more normal than not for AA fathers to be thrown every other weekend like a bone is thrown at a dog to shut him up.
Enough with the face issues. Its normal for all race Dads to get every other weekend at best. Child support is tied to visitation so its in the custodial parents best interest to have as little as possible to increase child support and for spite.
