I lost both my parents far too young, but it didn’t make me self-righteous or judgmental toward those who are lucky enough to still have good parents and in-laws in their lives. Maybe OP and the PP above are reasonable people who are temporarily disordered by grief, or maybe they are self-righteous and judgmental to start with. [/quote]
