There are 4 WCAC schools in football.  CG, DM, GZ and SJC.  The rest are garbage.  MAC level.  The big 4 have lower tuition allowing more financial aid to potential athletes and much larger enrollments.  People always talk about GP and their 500 students but about 115 of those students are borders.  Their non-border student body is much closer to the 390 or so.  I can promise you GP's football, basketball and lacrosse teams aren't made up of kids from Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan and South Korea paying $60K/year to go there.

Good point but, your argument does have a flaw. Sidwell Friends is cranking out D1 football and basketball players in the last 5 years. Demographics in terms of self pay and size of school (high school) are similar to GP. How come GP can’t pull the same caliber of D1 talent as Sidwell and soon to be others? [/quote]

HA! OMG, I just chocked on my snack when reading this. Are you seriously trying to say Sidwell has more D1 recruits than Prep?  What hole did you just crawl out of?  Sidwell is one of the most unathletic schools in the DMV. Maybe they have had a small handful of decent players through the years (and I do mean years....and years), but nothing compared to the consistent recruits that come out of an athletic (and academic) powerhouse like Prep. Prep has numerous D1 (and others) recruits in every single graduating class.  College coaches know that Prep students play at an elite level in the IAC conference, tournaments, etc and that they can handle themselves academically. All this and their long history and strong academics makes them highly desirable to college coaches.[/quote]

IAC is not elite level. No comparison between IAC vs WCAC. As someone mentioned earlier GPrep has never even played IMG or been invited to the MD invitational.
