[/quote] When the church won't pay pastors enough to feed their kids, it's definitely time to look for another job -- and maybe question their faith.[/quote] Just want to emphasize that "the church" that is paying the pastor is nearly always the congregation, made up of individuals. Very few denominations have central organizations that pay into local churches. If my fellow congregants don't give, our minister doesn't get paid. I was 10 years old the last time I had a minister who was a parent -- it's very difficult to afford a family and most ministers I know are single.[/quote]
