I’m sure kids on Loudoun White or silver will kick the tires at FCV but that’s about it. Good luck being a destination when you give up over 15 goals over a weekend.

Nothing funny about you caring about soccer rankings at U12 and younger.  That is sad not funny.

Regardless, the DA teams (STJ/FCV and Arlingtion) in any age group will continue to be among the top 3 teams every year in the area unless something drastically changes in the landscape.  MU is an exception because GFR is not a DA level club.  MU needs a bigger stronger partner to survive.  [/quote]

Having a bad U Little feeder team in a crowded landscape where many clubs have a carrot to offer is exactly that drastic thing. Teams tend to stay together if they are successful and nothing is pushing them out the door.

GFR currently has a in house DA. Exactly what would be the reason for kids to leave that team for a bad team? What exactly is the lure? Did that lure work with Loudoun this year as it had in years past?

When a team gets their ass kicked at these ages an ambitious parent usually calls the winning teams coach. That is how good core teams add talent over the years.

Along my kids journey through youth soccer, I could count dozens of one-off teams at smaller, local clubs that put together a good squad that won blowout games like you describe only to have those kids leave a short time later for a bigger stage.

Feeder club means nothing for DAs.  NOTHING.  DCU has no feeder club.  Bethesda draws from all across the area and even Pennsylvania.  FCV has players from Williamsburg.

Your sales pitch to an outsider has to be development. It is hard to sell that when the current team you are asking them to join is at the level of a bad NCSL team. The coach is really gonna be able to sell development when the team they are selling sucks?[/quote]

Today, right now, FCV is the girls DCU for this area. They are where most of them he top talent is consolidating. Not EVERY top player but DCU doesn’t have EVERY top player either. [/quote]
