A lot of people take the day off or 1/2 a day off on the first day of school. It’s a nice way to reconnect with people you haven’t seen all summer and to get to meet some of the new kindergarten parents. Younger siblings are invited, so there are always babies and a dozen preschoolers running around. It’s mostly moms, a few dads. Most people just drink coffee, but a few might drink a mimosa.
