No one said they couldn't "survive" without toothpaste.  It just seems cruel to not give kids something as simple as toothpaste for hygiene purposes. We give toothpaste to homeless people all the time. They've survived for months without it too. Doesn't mean we can't be kind and give them some.[/quote]

+1 Let the chlidren come to me said Jesus....I didn't read anything where he said once they are there, treat them without respect for basic  hygiene.[/quote]
