Do TJ student who enroll at VT do so for financial reasons or because of lack of other options, or are there significant other factors in play?

The quality of the program certainly hasn't improved (for instance, this year, TJ [url=http://usaco.org/index.php?page=finalists19]didn't have a single USACO finalist[/url] or [url=https://www.maa.org/sites/default/files/pdf/usamo/2019%20USAMO%20Winners.pdf]USAMO winner[/url]).

Conversely, what explains the increased acceptance at out-of-state schools?  Is it a combination of parent prosperity and [url=https://hechingerreport.org/college-students-predicted-to-fall-by-more-than-15-after-the-year-2025/]declining birth rates[/url], perhaps combined with outsized tuition increases at in-state schools?[/quote]
