Lastly, it's self absorbed to make the flow of traffic all about you.  But, that is living in this area.  Selfishness if pretty typical of drivers here.

In Va you have to be [b]deliberately impeding the flow of traffic[/b] to get such a ticket.  I doubt such a ticket to someone driving 20MPH in a 25MPH would ever hold up in court (how would you even prove it? Radar gun?  Aren't those considered not that accurate, which is why people don't get tickets for going 5MPH OVER the speed limit?) And I doubt that police would give them.

In the locality where I live, where police lack the resources to do adequate enforcement against speeders, red light runners, people making illegal turns, etc, etc, if the police were to spend their time giving tickets to people driving 20MPH in a 25MPH zone, I would think it would be a scandal. Honk? The vast majority of the a-holes wouldn't honk for 20 in a 25. 5 mph lower is not [i]that[/i] much different to even notice. OP impedes traffic in a more obvious way if people are frequently honking at her.

IME, they will tailgate if you drive 25MPH in a 25MPH zone, so yeah, I could imagine them honking at someone doing 20.  They don't want to drive the speed limit, they want to drive 10MPH over the limit, or more. [/quote]
