She still had a title at death and Diana is the only Royal still honored on the anniversary of her death date 20 years later, so I’m not sure where you’re coming from.

An kd expunged is a funny word for a woman who has yearly special exhibitions at the palaces and a statue going up in her honor at Kensington Palace on the 23rd anniversary of her death.

The poster suggested that Diana be reinstated with the title Her Royal Highness.  All the adulation around Diana is an economic decision. She is good for the firm’s tourism business.  She will never regain the hrh title nor will the royal family view  her as anything but an asterisk.  Had she lived, she would be treated the same way Sarah Ferguson was at her daughter’s wedding. Camilla would have center stage and Diana would be off to the side. [/quote]
Highly unlikely Diana would have been a wallflower at her own sons' weddings. And in the weddings of Princess Anne's kids their biological father was the one in all the official pictures together with Anne, not her current husband.[/quote]

Had Diana not died it's also not clear how her life would shape up. She was going through a messy period, hanging out with wholly unsuitable men and playboys with drug habits and people forget that in the last year or two she seemed to be going through a downward trajectory, there was a lot of disapproval of her dating Fayed. Had she continued in that direction who knows what would have happened to her. She was not made of strong stuff, unlike her sisters who would have been much better wives for Charles, ironically. And she clearly had emotional issues, unlike Sarah Ferguson. Her behaviour before she died was not suitable for the mother of a future king. In a way it's a good thing she died when she did.

I can't comment on her sisters, except to say Diana was an exemplary Princess of Wales. She represented Britain in a way never before seen and made changes on a global scale in less than two decades. It's not her fault Charles was such a sh*t husband.

As for the men she was dating at the end, yes she had a thing for Muslim upper class men. I can't say I ever expected a future Queen of England to date men of the background she did, but Diana also was said to have been thinking that her marriage with someone of that background would help ease tensions between the Muslim and Christian community.

Which was sorely needed then and is sorely needed now.

Neither  of the Muslim she dated wanted to marry her.  The physician dumped her because he couldn’t deal with her crazy  
She picked up with the playboy to make him jealous.   There was a reason non Muslim Brits had nothing to do with her since her marital affairs.
