Use of profanity is a sign of powerlessness and inability to manage the situation, and the transmission of emotions, most often negative. Cursing denotes and is mostly used in conflict situations, to convey feelings of discomfort, anger, complaint, sometimes happiness and satisfaction.

The most craving for the cursing is observed in adolescence, when the becoming personality tends to assert itself, to prove otherness on others. The abundant cursing in an adult's speech is a sign of not grown up or abusive person,  or a primitive descendant of the society.

Communicative culture can be defined as a set of formed socially significant qualities of the person, based on norms of communication, morals, ethics. 
No, Liberals are not smarter, they simply can't communicate efficiently without assaulting their opponents which is the sign of one/all of the above.
