Don’t know why backing in bothers anyone. It’s just like having to back in when parallel parking. Just be patient for a few seconds with other drivers on the road. You’ll be a happier person.
Usually, when I see a car ahead of me backing into a parallel parking space on the street, they’ve used a turn signal and slowed way down as they approached the space, making it obvious what they were about to do. Unfortunately, vast majority of times that a driver ahead of me in a parking lot wants to back into a space, they haven’t used a turn signal or slowed way down. They appear to drive past the open space, then suddenly throw their car into reverse without warning. THAT’S the only part of other drivers backing into parking spaces that bothers me. If you communicate your intentions in advance so I’m not caught off guard by your car suddenly coming at mine in reverse, then I’m fine with your backing in.
