The next kid that gets assaulted will have family that sue for more money than MCPS could possibly lose - trying to work a tad bit harder. They suck
There is a cap for how much you can sue MCPS for. Sure they suck, but no amount of money can undo what was done to a child. I honestly don't know how MCPS administrators can sleep at night knowing they keep children in harm's way.
The cap is something like 300k, but that’s for each instance of, say, inappropriate touching. It could add up quickly.
Unless you have a witness or camera tape (which is in the possession of MCPS BTW), the number of times of inappropriate touching might be difficult to prove. Predators will isolate children in private environments so the abuse can happen in secret. My son was abused. I believe his story 100% and I applaud his bravery in speaking out for what happened. However, the actual crime had no witnesses so the arrest is not happening as of yet. The abuser remains in contact with children today. What we can prove are multiple blatant violations of the MCPS Employee Code of Conduct and violations of MCPS to follow State and Federal laws. We can prove the abuser was alone with my child off school property.
