Hogan decided against investigating Dr ford’s allegations against kavanaugh.
Blatant falsehood. He said Maryland State Police would not investigate as it is a county matter. You should really be ashamed of yourself for spreading false info. - A registered Dem
No, it's not. You need to read more. http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/politics/bs-md-hogan-kavanagh-20180921-story.html
Gov. Larry Hogan on Friday ruled out involving the Maryland State Police in any investigation of allegations that U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl more than 30 years ago in Montgomery County. The Republican governor was asked at a news conference about a letter Democratic state Sen. Cheryl Kagan of Montgomery sent him. She urged Hogan to take the step because the White House has not ordered the FBI to look into the allegations made by Christine Blasey Ford about Kavanaugh’s actions at a high school party. Hogan said he had not heard about the request, but he immediately turned it down. “The Maryland State Police will not be getting involved in this,” he said. Hogan did not elaborate on his reasons.

And the very next paragraph below what you quoted says:
Spokesmen for state and county police said Friday they would not investigate unless they received a complaint — which they said has not happened. State police also said that, in any case, they have an agreement with county police that means local officials investigate such crimes in their jurisdiction.
You very selectively quoted the article to spin this so that Hogan looks like he's playing partisan politics. But in fact, it's the opposite. Hogan is staying out of partisan politics by focusing on running the state of MD and not sticking his nose into national politics. Hogan may have discussed the issue with the MD State Police Chief, found out the policy and just made the blanket statement above. In any event, I agree with Hogan that the appointment of a SCJ has nothing to do with MD State. If the victim in a crime wants to open the case, she can contact the appropriate jurisdictional police force (in this case Montgomery County Police) and open the investigation. But the MD State Police do not get into a crime in another police force's jurisdiction unless they are asked to step in.
