My husband has said to me that the worst sports parents are the ones who were not very good themselves, if they even played competitively at all.  These parents live vicariously through their more athletically gifted child.  DH played college football and now coaches our 10 yr old son's football team and says he knows exactly who the obnoxious parents are going to be, its never the ones who played themselves.  Our son also plays lax on a travel team and, since my husband did not play lax other than intramurals, he keeps his mouth shut and trusts the coaches.  He is exactly the way same with our daughter, giving advice only when he has actual experience (she doesnt play football  :lol: but does play lax and basketball and soccer).  I have followed his lead, as he was a better atholete than I, and have noticed this is pretty true across ALL sports.[/quote]
