Soccer is absolutely a contact sport. What do these people think shielding the ball entails? here, for the non-reading trolls on the board: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMdq9WPz4YY
Goalies, defenders, you name it. Soccer is a contact support. Here's another one for our soccer hating posters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2Wwig-Uc8s And, your favorite and mine: HEADER GOALS; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJEer4ajzEw Oh yes, the beauty, the skills, this is such amazing soccer. LOVE it!
Puhleez. I don't hate soccer, but those "contact" clips was just bumping and positioning like posting up in basketball. Non-contact doesn't mean no touching in the traditional definition of these types of sports. Sorry if saying soccer is a non-contact sport diminishes your manhood (for lack of a better expression). It was like when people thought helmet-wearing hockey players were lesser players, whimps. Don't let this attitude prevent you from seeing that changes to rules and/equipment *may be* necessary.
