It [i]is [/i]still illegal. At lest wine / beer is legal and there are social norms in place that make it easy to drink in front of your children.
I try not to get drunk in front of my kids, although I might have one drink in front of them. I don't want them to see me full on drunk (although they have once or twice). But even after a drink or two they'll accuse me of being drunk -- because they have no real context.
I don't partake, but if I did I probably would do it when children were not around. Because, again, it is illegal and they have no sense of what makes it acceptable/not acceptable. They do get drug brainwashed at school.
I also don't smoke (regular tobacco) but I would also not do that when children are around even though that is legal. There is a huge stigma about smoking that alcohol doesn't have, and to smoke in front of your kids will result in them harrassing you.[/quote]
