In what universe is 5’9” short?? Or even 5’8”. As PP said, it’s not tall, but it’s not short (though I’m 5’’3.5” and was fine dating anyone 5’6” and up).

I can’t even fathom any of my friends trying to dissuade me from marrying someone based on height; that’s just bizarre and reflects so poorly on your friends.[/quote]
