Fewer 'no kid' women th here, though. It's not prohibitively expensive to have a kid there, and there isn't as much emphasis on money and career. More women feel they can do both.[/quote]

I'm not sure if this is as true as it used to be. The marriage and fertility rates are in decline in people below upper-middle-class socioeconomic status. It's now the more affluent women who are more likely to get married and start families -- or, at least get married. There are a lot of baby-mamas in Flyover Country.[/quote]
