I'd love one but can't justify adding it to our budget since I am not going to give up running several times and week and also fit in weight work (currently spin a couple times a week and/or bike in my basement). So my affordable set up is that we have an okay spin bike (purchased over 4 years ago in the $600 range) and I do classes on youtube. There are actually a lot and they still make me work harder than riding along to my own made up class or just watching the news. I also ride in my running shoes with baskets (do the same on my road bike in the warmer months) and wasn't sure if peleton bikes have the option. All that said, I still consider both the app and the bike all the time!
Yes, you can get cages put on the peloton if you don't want to wear cycle shoes. Although it seems silly to not just buy a pair of cycle shoes since they make spinning that much more efficient and enjoyable.
