ugh. this has been our impression and experience as well. oldest shipping out to great college this fall, not sure what to do with 6th grader.... she is having a rough time back from HGC [/quote]
My 4th grader does the following:

1. writes a multi-paragraph paper and gets it back with feedback and a letter grade
2. has math quizzes with a letter grade
3. has spelling tests from time to time

Is it perfect? No, especially in MS. Not very challenging for my former HGC student.  Decided not to apply to MS magnet, but will apply to HS magnet. I feel like MS is a black hole in MCPS.[/quote]
