I disagree. Each situation is different. PP’s DH (and other PPs) did not choose his situation - OP did choose her situation. Nor do other PPs have a flagrantly pompous, callous and entitled attitude about inconveniencing others - in OP’s case, her actions are deliberate and obvious. If another car is trying to get in next to you, OP is saying quite blatantly that her situation trumps anyone else’s situation - whereas OP has no viable proof of such. OP deems herself judge and jury, and will have it no other way (as you can see by all the PPs deleted who spoke against OP, if you have been following this thread). OP wanting something to be so does not make it such. The troubling aspect is the callous disregard for other people who have just as much a right to be there, parking their vehicle, as OP does. OP, if you were not in the way, then no one would have honked. You simply have no right to be in the way, like it or not. A similar argument might instead be a mom who is walking in the middle of a moderately to highly busy (much as a parking lot) road, with her stroller. Yes, people aren’t “supposed to” hit you, but it does not make you “right” for walking in the middle of that kind of road with a stroller. It is rather simple and straightforward, but also requires a certain amount of common sense. You may be wanting to prove that cars should not hit pedestrians (for example), but OP’s logic is gravely flawed. OP may be looking to make a point (not sure what, exactly) - but what it comes down to is the other car would not have honked at OP, if OP were not physically impeding the use of the second parking spot. OP, you should know that cameras exist in most parking lots. If OP were to somehow cause an unecessary issue by her quite obviously deliberate action, OP could find herself in a much worse situation than “not wanting to move”. OP sounds very naive and prone to creating drama.
