[/quote] You certainly missed the point here. I pointed out that much of this was from teacher training -not condemning use of sick leave or personal leave. The system owes the teachers that--rightly. But, the system is encouraging and demanding too many days of teacher training when the kids are in school. If every teacher in a school misses ONE day during the year for training, with a staff of 30 teachers, that would be 30 days of subs. This is happening in most schools--and many schools have staffs far larger than 30 teachers. Those are subs that could be in the classroom for sick teachers.
