The police seem pretty sure this was not a hate crime, I can't see them coming to that conclusion willy nilly. Hopefully more information will be released. They can always up the charge later if evidence proves otherwise. On another note, the killer looks beat up in his mug shot. I wonder if he got those marks from this incident. There's definitely a lot more info that hasn't been released to the public. What a terrible tragedy to happen to that girl and her family, especially on Father's day. The family has set up a gofundme: https://www.launchgood.com/project/for_nabra#/
OP here, and someone who has been connected to ADAMS in the past. I completely get raising funds for funeral costs, especially since Muslim burial practices recommend burying the deceased fast and ASAP - even same day ideally (but likely delayed in this case due to criminality). Would this 200k raised be used for legal fees? Was Nabra a breadwinner for her family? I'm all for raising funds in needy situations and get that somehow a donation is another person's way of "helping" where they may feel helpless in a senseless death... but... still a little weird and large amount. But does anyone know more?
