I didn't read through all 6 (!) pages on this thread. Did she go inside the church? If so then it would have been inappropriate not to cover her shoulders, and I say that as a Michelle Obama lover. Otherwise (if they didn't go in) I think it's fine.
Nope, It's six pages without any actual evidence she wore that inside a church. And even so, who would care. They do look very happy and the crowds look very happy to see them there. I can't imagine anyone was the least bit offended. And I'll just say again, I love the outfit. She knows how to dress for herself and she glows.
Look, I get that you want to defend her, but come on. This is absurd. You can't possibly be defending this with a straight face.
No, I'm not defending her I'm her I'm defending discussion of fashion in the fashion forum. There is no evidence of an international incident and I like the outfit, I think it's pretty and appropriate for touring. Vogue blurb:
Yesterday in Tuscany, she spent the afternoon shopping in yet another easy, breezy blouse, only this time, it came in an off-the-shoulder silhouette. The ruffles and lace-up detail lent visually interesting elements to an otherwise simple staple from Club Monaco. Smartly, she tucked it into high-waisted custom BCBG cargo pants in order to offset the flash of shoulder. Both pieces were worn perfectly rumpled, loosening the traditional appeal of pristine shirting and trousers, and doubling down on the relaxed vacation vibes. She added structure in the form of Simon Miller’s oxblood leather tote plus simple shower slides, which felt like an ideal choice for sightseeing on foot. The gold Elizabeth and James cuff and Jennifer Fisher hoops and ring coordinated with the trim on her statement sunglasses, which seemed to say, “I’m having the best time ever.” And from the look of it, we’re inclined to agree.
