I had to stay a week in the hospital when I was 7 because I had pneumonia and needed to be in an oxygen tent. My parents weren't there the entire time. During the day, yes, but they didn't sleep here. I lived. I'm not permanently scarred. You don't need to be joined at the hip 100% of the time. Nor should you judge a parent who can't be there or doesn't believe 24/7 attachment is necessary. [/quote]
