I am currently on Phentamine, covered by my insurance. 60 days in. Still working great. Have lost more than 30 lbs in 60 days but I have also taken the diet very seriously, tracked calories and added a lot of exercise. Doctor said 90 days, maybe 120 if things were going well. Have to go back once a month to get BP checked and get weighed. Will see what happens after the 120 days but life with an appetite suppressant is bliss. I am just not tempted at all by food and normally a big glass of water gets me over any twinge of hunger. A lot of times, I have to eat even though I am not hungry. Wish I could stay on it forever.
Wanted to post my update. Now about 90 days is - had a great month - have lost 46 pounds. Originally thought that if I could lose 30 that I could handle the rest on my own but now I am close to my goal and I am going to get one more month and hopefully get to 60 lbs. Have been drinking a lot of water with lemon, only decaf coffee - big glass of water before every meal and going for a good long walk 4-5 days a week. Trying to make the most of this. Read a lot about how it becomes less effective over time but that has not been my experience. Have been tracking calories every day and have been right on budget the whole way. Had a long chat with my doctor last month about long term programs - a reduced dose, other drugs, and no dice - she wasn't interested. While this has been a fun ride, I am starting to worry about the impact of jumping off of it at the end of April. Not having an appetite is just so amazing I can't even describe it. I have so much angst tied to eating, always feel terrible every time I overeat, lots of guilt, etc. Haven't had any of those feelings this year - this pill has been great for me.
