We had problems with bullying at Brent -- the principal did nothing. Sorry you're going through this.
This sounds terrible. We had bullying issues at another ES (not as bad, but the climate was not healthy for my son), and we left. The school tried, but it is limited in what it can do.
I actually think schools can do a lot more if they care. My child was the "behavior issue" previously, and it was largely due to problems with the teachers, and the principal not caring or understanding. Ultimately the principal's lack of action/deliberate inaction (coupled with the teacher's inability to manage the classroom) meant that things came to a head and we voluntarily withdrew our child. Which was likely the principal's goal. How do I know it was the school's issue and not (solely) my kid? Because my child's behavioral problems literally disappeared in his next school. Due to this experience I'd never waste my time in a public school where there is a serious issue that the administration does not immediately show they care about and will at least try to address.
