It's not hard to believe an architect couldn't afford live-in help back in the 70s. His house had the three bedrooms, because at the time, he had just three boys. Assuming the oldest had his own room before Carol and the girls came along. Kids shared rooms back then. Carol SAH and Alive was affordable before they came into the picture, so they kept her around (presumably because they could afford it, and now there were four more mouths to feed and clean up after.)[/quote]
