If you work in the city, a shorter commute means more time at home with your kid, not bars and restaurants. This is ridiculous, I live as close as I can afford for more family time, not night life. Also, my experience is that you can get by on about $60k for a family of 3, but that doesn't leave enough to save for retirement and college well. So more than that if it's a long term arrangement but pretty sure $500k is, uh, not the minimum required.[/quote]
