I wouldn't have believed it, had I not seen quiet people prove this consistently. If I see a quiet person at a social gathering - they are always in the corner, with a smug look on their face, staring at other people. I want to feel bad for them, and their misgivings, but their smug look changes my mind. For a split second, I wonder what series of unfortunate events brought them to this dark place in life. Then I just move on and count my blessings. Unlike OP, I don't wallow in it - but I could take OP's cue and wonder: why so quiet/sneaky/self absorbed/lacking social graces/lacking social skills/totally inept....ad infinitum.....but life offers more than that.
