Ignorant response on multiple fronts. First, Visi and BI have sent more girls to play Ivy league lax in recent years than most of the other ISL and WCAC schools. Second, more and more DMV lax families are choosing not to send their daughters, and their $$, to the Ivies for reasons the Harvard and UPenn Presidents made obvious. Otherwise, feel free to burn your tuition $$ if it makes you feel better
Lots to unpack here ... False claim #1: "... more and more DMV lax families are choosing not to send their daughters, and their $$, to the Ivies for reasons the Harvard and UPenn Presidents made obvious." - The current ivy freshman class has the most DMV representation of any other ivy roster class: 6 are freshman, 4 are sophomores, 4 are juniors, 5 are seniors. - DMV 2024s have (at least) 5 committed to ivies (3 from SJC, 1 from SSSA, 1 from Holton). One less than last year, but one more than the 2022 and 2021 classes (and same as the 2020 class). - Players don't "choose" not to attend an ivy because of a perceived liberal bias (everyone knows it exists everywhere and that ivies are lightening rods). If you really know this sport, the main reasons players turn ivies down are: 1) the lack of scholarship $ 2) the intense academic rigor (which isn't for everyone) and 3) the high standardized test scores and transcript expectations ivy coaches demand of recruits (which scare many players away). False claim #2: "Visi and BI have sent more girls to play Ivy league lax in recent years than most of the other ISL and WCAC schools." If we define "recent" at 4 or less years (using all available data): - Of the 19 DMV players on current ivy teams, only 1 is from BI (Princeton). Just 2 are from Visi (both at Yale). - SSSA also has 2. Holy Child and Holton have more (4 and 3, respectively). - Holton, Holy Child and SJC (not BI or Visi) have the most active and committed players to ivies (4 each).
