Romney has already publicly stated he would not take any actions that helped get Trump into the White House, and has been lobbying Manchin not to run.
If Romney was at the top of the ticket, he would be more likely to get Republican/Independent votes than Democrats support him. That would hurt Trump not help him. Most voters do not cast their vote based on the VP nominee with perhaps some exceptions (LBJ helping JFK in Texas). Who knows what would happen in a 5-candidate race (Biden, Trump, Kennedy, West, Romney)? Right now, Trump is on track to win.
If you believe a poll a year out that says that 22% of African Americans will vote for Trump and so will 40% of the youth. Really. Really. So many of you are working so hard to get Trump back in office. You really love authoritarianism.
What poll says that? Trump is ahead in all of the key battleground states in a New York Times poll.
Yeah, that’s the poll I’m referencing. Open it up and look at some of the assumptions they’re making; ask yourself if it seems logical. Then read the accompanying article and ask yourself why they only spoke to Republicans and had the audacity to call them Democrats. In other words: I wouldn’t put much stock in that poll and if I were you I wouldn’t try to pretend like the GOP hasn’t lost on abortion and isn’t still obsessed with it.
With the exception of Michigan, Trump is also leading in every swing state according to the Bloomberg poll. Abortion is a state issue not a national one. The Supreme Court has decided. If the Republicans decide to emphasize a get out the vote strategy in 2024, Biden is toast. It is time to look at other options like Manchin.
Trump is a proven loser and already lost to Biden. Please run him as the gop candidate. So many people are going to stand there with the ballot and choose trump even after covid and overturning roe and January 6th and multiple international conflicts brewing. That will surely happen. Lol.
This is the kind of thinking that got Trump elected in 2016, Roe overturned, an insurrection, etc. Trump won in the Rust Belt and he can do so again. You can mock him and his supporters and risk losing the country or maybe actually think about the best way to defeat him in 2024. Biden is not going to be able to campaign from his basement. He does not connect with voters; Trump still does. They will be excited to vote for him. Biden does not have a base of support and the Obama coalition may not be there for him again.
This country won't elect a competent female. Dems got wise. They will go with a moderate, pro choice male and win. Trump is a forced birther and a forced birther has no chance in 2024. They will try desperately with third party candidates and voter suppression and other nonsense but the GOP will fail. They made their bed
This country will absolutely elect a female. What's with the blatant sexism? Content of character matters much more than gender or skin color in 2023. Maybe not in your household, but your bigotry is no longer the norm.
How are so completely understanding this poster? It is not that he or she will not vote for a woman. It is the hard ugly lesson of 2016 that an extremely experienced, accomplished, competent woman lost to a jackass like Donald trump. The Dems looked at that and accepted that winning is the most important thing and nominated an experienced, moderate man that could win the swing states. Things change but it can be slow. No one is willing to risk another disastrous term of trump. We will get a female leader when the country has progressed to a point where the swing states will elect a woman. They are the only states up for grabs in this system and they decide the election outcome.
