I thought this was interesting -- Bill Gates is over this pandemic. Doesn't mask because he believes in vaccines and yet also doesn't believe widespread vaccines could have prevented variants (because they didn't). It's interesting to hear what one of the smartest people in the world think since he/his foundation was so involved before the pandemic in global vaccine access. https://www.wired.com/story/bill-gates-is-so-over-this-pandemic/
Haven't read it, but just want to say that "smart" doesn't always mean sensible. He's giving his opinion. Everyone has one.
He can be over it as he can afford the best health care in the world.
Yup. He and all the DC politicians don’t have to worry because they’ll get all the treatments. No questions asked. No need to call around and find out where they can be found and if they’re eligible. They’ll have the best drugs without even having to worry about it.
We go to Walter Reed and it takes weeks to months to get appointments right now. I asked for help with covid and was told to go to the ER or an outside urgent care (which they may or may not pay for). They have separate VIP wings and all the good doctors get promoted to those positions. Many of the doctors are interns and residents or even unlicensed doctors and you don't get to meet with the supervising doctor so who knows if all your information gets passed when the decision is made. For speciality clinics I'm waiting at least two months for testing/appointments. Even a mammogram is a few months out.
So Tricare only covers doctors at Walter Reed?
Yes, or a few other local bases if you are on prime. You can get referred out and sometimes they do it and sometimes not. Normally for specialists they do if you are not active duty but I was just denied being referred out for two specialists. They will not pay if you don’t have a referral.
