Because we are children and very few of us are willing to make even the smallest compromise in the name of the common good. Not traveling would help to slow it down and dissipate the effect on the health care system. Let's hope your kid doesn't break their leg or get in accident whilst all this is going on. [/quote] Or get appendicitis or croup or RSV or, or, or.  Overloading ERs has massive effects on everyone.  Let's hope it doesn't get that far.  Let's hope that spring/summer means that the virus goes into remission until Fall and gives us a reprieve and ability to catch our breaths and figure out what to do next.  Let's hope.  Because alternatives are scary.  Many say this likely has the same death rate as the flu when all is said and done - but we have a vaccine for the flu - we don't for this.  And it appears to only hit the old and infirm - meaning that the percentage is actually much higher for them.  Let's protect them by not further spreading it and by taking this seriously so that they, too, take it seriously.[/quote]
