This.  All the so-called liberals in $1-2M houses in far north Arlington vote for Democratic County Board members who are pro-affordable housing because, you know, it's good to have diversity and support poor people.  Then, they fight like hell to keep that affordable housing off of Lee Highway where it might possibly require them to rub elbows with the residents, so it all continues to get pushed into one corner of the county.

Why would I be worried that you downloaded the demographic scenarios? Why does the state of va care?
 My kid goes to a fantastic diverse middle school. They have a great group of friends. 
I don’t consider Kenmore to be a lesser school. I’ve heard only good things from parents who have students attending. I would have no problem if my PU got shifted that direction. I can’t even imagine considering such a change as a sacrifice. What an outlandish idea!
I understand your preference to walk. That’s understandable. I’m sure the SB will take that into consideration when they work through this boundary shift. However, balancing demographics at Kenmore seems like to bigger community priority. It would be great if they can find a way to do both. 
I think people who want to walk need to figure out a simple way to get Kenmore down to 45%, that doesn’t  include them.[/quote]
