Obama came out of relative obscurity to wrestle the nomination away from Hilary Clinton, remember?  Harris did absolutely nothing to be handed the nomination.  To me, that's the big difference between the two of them.[/quote]

Obama's campaign was genuinely hopeful. We were coming off of 8 years of Bush a war that was increasingly unpopular and the start of a recession Obama also seemed different to the rotation of Bush and Clinton.

Harris isn't like that. Her party is currently in power, she's the VP to the current president there's not an element of radical change.
Other than party affiliation and both being of mixed Afro heritage there's not a lot in common.

And Obama become the nominee by beating one of the most qualified and well prepared candidates in our history in the 2008 Dem primary. Harris is a last minute replacement candidate chosen by party leaders and mega donors. Big difference.[/quote]
