I think it's interesting how many of the female characters are rising to power. And they all have a score to settle. Also, what's Arya's next move? She spent the whole last season training "to be a girl without a name". Now what? Despite the hate amongst the kingdons, they're all going to have to band together to fight the whitealkers. Only Brie, Jon, and Sam have valerian swords. I can't imagine they're the only 3 to be able to take down the whitewalkers.
There's actually been a fair amount of bitching on fan sites -- "this whole seasons has been feminist bullshit" "this is a girl show now" wah wah wah. I guess because Daenerys, Sansa, and Arya have all been so strong this season (plus, per usual....Yara, Meera, Brienne, and now Lady Mormont...) I think they are missing the point. It's not just the women that are stepping up now--it's all people who are damaged in some way--either born damaged or otherwise "less than" like Tyrion and Jon Snow, or who have been damaged--like Jaime and Theon. We keep seeing people who aren't expected to step up (the Onion Knight, Sam Tarly) be better people than those who have everything. I don't think it's as much about feminism as it is about power in general. But fanboys are gonna be wankers....
