"Why the obsessive, deranged attacks on conservative Supreme Court justices? Because the Supreme Court is one of the last institutions in America that the left doesn’t control, and it’s standing in the way of their revolution. Smearing and discrediting the conservative justices, demanding they recuse themselves for made-up offenses, is part of a longer-term strategy to delegitimatize and ultimately destroy the court. So remember that the next time you see a hit piece on a conservative Supreme Court justice, or the book being thrown at a group of people opposed to the regime, or when Trump is actually sent to prison later this summer. It’s not hypocrisy you’re seeing, it’s hierarchy." https://thefederalist.com/2024/06/11/unequal-application-of-the-law-in-america-today-isnt-hypocrisy-its-hierarchy/
Yep. Wow. Who knew that conservative Justices had conservative values?
Um, are you aware of their own code of ethics they pledged to uphold following the recent stories on misconduct, mainly by Thomas?
Republicans don’t need no stinking ethics. They know everything.
They are above the law.
As long as there is not a significant enough Democratic majority to clean house and make some rules that create clarity instead of relying on the GOP justices’ nonexistent ethics, yes. Alito and Thomas and the rest of those slippery ducks get to exist outside the law, essentially making laws in the name of their Christian nationalist beliefs.
It's terribly sad. Too bad they didn't get the ethics reform done after Trump, but now we're paying the price.
They just didn’t have the numbers. All the better reason to vote bluer than ever so that there are enough Democrats in office to make ethics reform happen, because we can see from the protection of the dirty right wing justices that Republicans will protect the decay.
You think the democrats will vote for reform? That is a joke. The moderate democrats are against reforming or even ethics code for SCOTUS. Have the dems promised no more filibuster? No they have not.
Yes, I think the Democrats will vote for reform when they have sufficient numbers. I think the GOP OTOH is happy to let corruption flourish.
I don’t see any conservative press complaining that justice Jackson and Sonia Sotomayor are the recipients of RVs and tuition from their billionaire “friends.”
They tried. Sotomayor sells her books on her speaking tours and they tired to make something out of it. It didn’t get much traction because…. She wrote a book and people bought it. Shrug.
