But said very little of value. [/quote] I mean, he may well be a total bumbling idiot. I have noticed that a truly surprising number of defense attorneys are not particularly concise or articulate. But unless he stood up there and said: "My client's position on these charges is that she is not guilty for this specific reason only and she waives all opportunity to raise any other defenses at any future point"--none of which would be allowed by a judge at this stage in the proceedings--we don't know what tack he will ultimately take here.
