Huh. If cars were slower on side streets because the drivers were stuck in traffic with other drivers, those streets actually would be safer. Drivers would have better peripheral vision, more time to react, and shorter stopping distances, and there would be less energy involved in the crash if there were nonetheless a crash. I think there are better ways to make streets safer, but it would make the streets safer.[/quote]
