trump and MAGA wanted a "talking filibuster" ... force democrats to stand on the floor and talk nonstop to block it. idea is they'd run out of steam.

Thune said no. not enough support, could tie up the senate for months, no guarantee it works.

straight 60-vote threshold next week...it is expected to fail.

so what problem is this actually solving?

here's my lawyer take: this bill would disenfranchise millions, overwhelm election offices, and punish eligible voters (especially women, working-class folks, and rural Americans) while fixing a problem that data shows doesn't exist.
