You are saying quarantine not isolated - so that means they were quarantined because another kids came to school with COVID?

So that means the "massless" kids did nothing wrong.  They came to school.  Now they are being asked to stay home.  It's their choice. They know the risk. They have not spread COVID.  It's the other child that came to school sick that may have spread it.

Were they vaccinated? I'm assuming you don't know since schools should not be sharing that information.

The reality is that they are probably being asked to stay home because they are not vaccinated.  It has nothing to do with the mask.

If they are vaccinated, your school should be reported for only quarantining vaccinated maskless students. That's not how the guidelines work.[/quote]

PP here. Nobody else from their classrooms has been sent home. As a teacher, having gone up to help them out with their work, it makes me nervous. I take care of my older parents at home who are vaxxed and boosted, but they are still vulnerable. I wonder why more kids from their classes were not sent home as well if they sat near them, and were maskless. [/quote]

Unfortunately, you are missing lots of info.  Who test positive for covid? Anyone?  Usually, the school announced when a case has been found in the school.  Has anything been announced.

We got a letter saying a kid in a class tested positive for covid. No name was mentioned, but one of the siblings is in that class. Our school does not keep a list  of un-masked kids. I assume kids who sit close to positive student will be contacted, however, kids do walk around the classroom; they are also in the hallway, do PE, are seated with othet kids during specials classes. It will be very hard to contact trace.

Who knows?  Nobody can prove it, but if my kid had to stay home for a week, because my child was sitting next to an unmasked student that tested positive, I would be livid!  Sure, it was that family’s choice to send the kid without a mask, but then, it will not be my choice to use my sick/vacation days off to stay home with my own child. Some parents get paid by the hour, what choice do they get?  Food or no food on the table?[/quote]

Anybody under 50 had to get required vaccines in all 50 states to go to schools.  Some states went back a century or more before that. Yet it's some CRAZY new idea now.
